Add your voice for a national accord on housing and homelessness

In the recent federal election, Canadians sent a message that the housing crisis and homelessness are two of their top priorities. Now the trade war is pushing us to the breaking point, with over 53% of Canadians saying they fear losing their home or becoming homeless as a result.

Prime Minister Carney, the new Housing and Infrastructure Minister Gregor Robertson, and your local MP need to hear from you.

Prime Minister Carney promised “Canada’s most ambitious housing plan since the Second World War.” But the platform he’s put forward won’t achieve the goals he’s set and won’t reduce homelessness without some important improvements.

The Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness and our Housing Canada Coalition partners have a blueprint to solve the housing crisis and reduce homelessness.

As critical first step we’re calling for the Prime Minister and Housing and Infrastructure Minister to work urgently with provinces and territories to develop a formal accord on housing, similar to how health care is managed. The housing and homelessness crises are too big for any one government to tackle alone – but look at Canada’s track record when we work together. We have a long track record of responding to disasters and ending homelessness for people impacted by disaster. Now we need that collaboration to solve our housing crisis.

It only takes a few minutes to make your voice heard. Email the Prime Minister, Housing Minister and your local MP now and let them know you want your governments to work together to end homelessness and fix the housing crisis.
