New research confirms what we’re seeing in communities: homelessness in Canada is a housing problem, and it’s getting worse. 

There’s a clear link between rising homelessness and shrinking affordability. That means Canadians experiencing or on the edge of homelessness need more affordable housing and a transformed Canada Housing Benefit so they can afford to rent what’s out there while new housing gets built. 

We’re calling on the federal government to act now. We have five recommendations for the next national housing strategy , and we won’t stop until we get each one. 

If enough of us keep the pressure up, we can make sure that the next national housing strategy leaves no one behind.

The more letters we send, the more that local Members of Parliament will hear that homelessness is top of mind for the people who elected them.
